USJ Successfully Hosts the ACCSC Development Conference and 2025 Scholarship Announcement

[February 19, 2025 | Silicon Valley] University of San Jose (USJ) successfully held the ACCSC Development Conference and the 2025 USJ Scholarship Announcement. The event marked USJ’s first major conference since receiving ACCSC-I accreditation. The conference featured a keynote address by USJ Founding President Dr. Claude Wang, an official announcement of the 2025 USJ Scholarship Program by USJ Vice President Kevin Cheng, and was hosted by USJ Vice President Dr. Bin Li.

Distinguished guests in attendance included Dr. Tony Hu, Board Member of Patten University; Mr. Robin Bickel, Director of Business Development at Patten University; Mr. Peng Wang, President of Chengdu Jinhaiyang Education Group; and Dr. Charlie Chi, Director of USJ’s Accreditation Office. Each delivered remarks, celebrating USJ’s achievements and future aspirations.

USJ’s Vision for Global Education and Innovation

In his keynote speech, Dr. Claude Wang shared insights into USJ’s founding journey and its vision for the future. He emphasized the university’s mission to cultivate ITTTES (Information Technology, Trade, Telecommunication, Engineering, and Science) professionals with a unique Silicon Valley edge. USJ aims to build a cross-cultural global campus, focusing on the integration of AI and healthcare industries to foster collaboration between education and industry.

Dr. Wang outlined ten key strategic initiatives for USJ’s future growth and expressed his gratitude to all stakeholders for their continuous support. He reaffirmed USJ’s commitment to providing world-class education and services to students and faculty worldwide, strengthened by its recent accreditation from the Accrediting Commission of Career Schools and Colleges (ACCSC).

Strengthening Collaboration and Accreditation Efforts

Mr. Robin Bickel, Director of Business Development at Patten University, extended his congratulations to USJ, expressing enthusiasm for deeper collaboration between the two institutions to enhance educational offerings.

Dr. Charlie Chi, Director of USJ’s Accreditation Office, reflected on the university’s accreditation journey, acknowledging the efforts that led to achieving ACCSC-I status. He encouraged continued dedication to completing the next phase of accreditation, ensuring even higher standards of academic excellence.

Mr. Peng Wang, President of Chengdu Gocean Education Group, delivered remarks on behalf of USJ’s international partners. He congratulated USJ on its accreditation milestone and expressed confidence in the university’s ongoing success in global education.

Launch of the 2025 USJ Scholarship Program

A key highlight of the event was the official launch of the 2025 USJ Scholarship Program. USJ Vice President Kevin Cheng announced that the scholarship will provide full or partial financial aid to outstanding students, recognizing academic excellence, leadership, and social contributions. This year, USJ has expanded the scholarship fund to $300,000, allowing more talented students from diverse backgrounds to benefit.
